I am Kwon Youngjin, the Mayor of Daegu.

On behalf of our 2.5 million citizens, it is my great pleasure for Daegu to host the 2020 Asia-Pacific Conference on Giftedness and to welcome all the delegates and participants.

Daegu, a city of education, has been a cradle for nurturing talented people with our strong enthusiasm for education and has founded rich infrastructures including excellent educational programs providers and advanced research facilities. Based on our educational values and philosophies that Daegu has embraced so far, the delegates and participants will discuss the theme: ‘Beyond Intelligence: Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Ethical Minds’ in this conference. I hope APCG 2020 will be a chance to share your remarkable ideas about gifted and talented education.

Moreover, I would like to express my gratitude to the guests for visiting Daegu, the International Convention City. I wish you a pleasant stay enjoying the true beauty of Korea with full of traditional and modern attractions. In particular, twelve UNESCO World Heritage Sites, showing the historical and cultural assets sprinkled amidst green mountains and along the rivers, will give you the experiences once in a life time.
